Key Responsibilities:

As a Personal Support Worker at Lakeridge Gardens, you will:

  • Assist residents with daily personal care: dressing, bathing, toileting, grooming
  • Help residents with mobility, ambulation, and transferring
  • Provide meal assistance, including feeding and in-between meal support
  • Maintain resident hygiene, including oral care and denture cleaning
  • Unpack and store resident belongings; label clothing and personal items
  • Escort and orient new residents to their rooms; manage their personal items
  • Support activity programs, including transporting residents to scheduled activities
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment and assist with infection control
  • Document care activities, maintain records, and report relevant information
  • Promote and ensure the safety and comfort of residents at all times
  • Adhere to occupational health and safety standards
  • Report any injuries or hazards to your immediate supervisor promptly

Qualifications and Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited Canadian institution
  • A minimum of 600 hours of practical experience in a healthcare setting
  • Prior experience in long-term or geriatric care (preferred)
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and infection control procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong empathy, reliability, and a commitment to high-quality care
  • Physical ability to perform essential job duties (lifting, standing, etc.)
  • A valid criminal record check (vulnerable sector) issued within the past six months
