Responsibilities of Staff Nurse Jobs in Galway:
- Provide Vhi Hospital @ Home patients with direct care that is both effective and efficient.
- Daily, make a positive impact on the organization.
- In your professional conduct, adhere to the professional code established by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland and the policies and procedures of Vhi Hospital @ Home.
- By adhering to the clinical policies and procedures of Vhi Hospital @ Home, ensure patient safety by performing at the highest possible level.
- Provide the clinical nurse manager with updates on any changes in patient health and supervise the timely implementation of care plans for each patient.
- Sustain both independent initiative and cooperation.
- Participate actively as a member of the multidisciplinary team in all aspects of patient care.
- Attend requisite team meetings.
- It is essential to maintain professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland and provide substantiating documentation of such registration on an annual basis, or as soon as the Vhi Hospital @ Home team requests it.
- Engage in in-house and external continuing medical education courses and sessions to enhance the quality of service provided.
- Participate in the development of the treatment plan.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Manager to create and implement patient care plans.
- Assist in the identification, development, and execution of educational programs for customers and/or staff.
- Perform clinical audits under the directive of the Clinical Nurse Manager or Senior Nurse Manager.
- The Clinical Nurse Manager reviews the appointments scheduled for the day the evening before each shift.
- Deliver the transfer to fellow community staff nurses at the end of the scheduled workday, or the following day if they are absent.
- Establish daily workload priorities and allocate resources accordingly. Retain accurate records of the health status of the patient designated to them and provide reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager and Vhi Hospital @ Home Community Physician.
- Assist the multidisciplinary teams and patients in their endeavors to guarantee the continuity of care.
- Evaluate the patient’s vital signs during each appointment.
- Venepuncture and cannulation must be executed by the highest clinical standards, as necessary.
- Operating throughout all H&W Services, including Medical Screening and H@H, to ensure that CVAD line access is maintained by protocol.
