Opportunity

In our capacity as child and caregiver support workers, we are in search of dynamic individuals who are dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of families and children by assisting others. You will be accountable for providing a diverse array of services that are designed to protect, prevent, and support children and their families following the Family-Centered Case Management Model of Practice and the P.R.I.D.E. model.

In this position, you will:

  • Assume responsibility for the allocation of resources and the administration of caseloads for a variety of programs that support foster families, extended family caregivers, and children in care.
  • Contribute to regional initiatives that perpetually improve or enhance the provision of services to children and their families positively and efficiently.
  • Conduct training or facilitate groups to achieve educational or support objectives;
  • Conduct family evaluations to identify potential foster, adoptive, or extended family caregivers.
  • While facilitating placements, offer maintenance and post-placement support.
  • Assisting caregivers in the development of strategies that prioritize the well-being of children and the establishment of the requisite support systems;
  • In anticipation of the child’s repatriation, collaborate with foster parents or caregivers to prepare and strategize.
  • As required, act as a liaison and consultant with FNCFS and other community agencies to facilitate the delivery of services to caregivers and make decisions regarding children.
  • Ensure that documentation is maintained by the professional standards.

  • To be recognized as equivalent in Canada, all international education must undergo accreditation evaluation.
  • In addition to relevant professional experience, human service degrees require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Psychiatric Nursing or a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and/or Psychology, Education, Human Justice, or Indigenous Studies.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to travel, operate a vehicle, and transport children (or parents) during service delivery, therefore a legitimate Saskatchewan driver’s license is an essential requirement for all applicants. Furthermore, the schedule may necessitate adaptability to accommodate weekends and evenings.
