Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities:
- While operating under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse, the individual is accountable for conducting a diverse array of assigned responsibilities, some of which will involve providing direct care.
- This will entail the provision of assistance in meeting the comfort and hygiene needs of patients, including the following: assisting with bathing and grooming, oral hygiene, escorting to the restroom, assisting with bedpans and commodes, making beds, and managing contaminated linen per formal protocols.
- Under the supervision of registered personnel, patients are provided with medication assistance, which includes the use of nebulizers.
- Assisting the registered staff in the completion of patient fluid balance charts and the recording and monitoring of patient’s temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Distribution of meals and beverages and assistance with eating and imbibing as required are provided to meet the dietary needs of patients.
