Position Overview:

Assisted with patient and resident care, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is assigned to the Clinical Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN), the Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), and/or the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). They provide basic supportive care as directed. The HCA is subject to general supervision as a member of the health care staff.

Experience:

  • Recent patient care experience (within the past four years) or its equivalent will be taken into account.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):

  • A Health Care Aide Certificate from a college or educational institution that is accredited
  • A grade 12 diploma (or its equivalent) is required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

  • It is mandatory to provide CPR training to family and acquaintances.
  • Personnel employed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Urgent Care are required to undergo annual recertification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). Two months after the position is assumed, certification must be obtained.
